The REAL BAU is back together! PRENTISS IN! SEAVER OUT!

Prentiss is back in the BAU!

Paget Brewster is joining AJ Cook, and like her, has inked a deal to return to Criminal Minds full time starting next season. The fan favourite’s NBC pilot, My Life is an Experiment, didn’t get picked up which has freed up Brewster to return to Minds like co-star AJ Cook.

Not coming back next season is Rachel Nichols who joined the cast earlier this season as cadet Ashley Seaver. She joined mostly to fill the void left by Cook’s departure.

Thomas Gibson, who plays the team leader Aaron Hotchner is the only castmember yet to ink a deal.

I stopped watching Criminal Minds on a regular basis at the beginning of the 6th season, pretty much in protest of how they tinkered with a formula that was working fine and essentially banished their women. I’m pleased to see they’ve come to their senses.

What’s On: Few Finale Wednesday!

It’s a relatively quiet night for TV, with ABC’s comedies ending next week, only a few series are ending tonight among them the latest cycle of ANTM, Criminal Minds and the soon to be Hargitay-free, Law and Order: SVU. Here’s the finale’s and the rest of what’s on tonight, Wednesday May 18, 2011.

16th Season Finale!
America’s Next Top Model
“Season Finale” 9:00 on CW

Who’s gonna win Molly or Brittani? That is the question on everyone’s mind, although the CW says that “disaster strikes for one of the models”… could be good…

6th Season Finale!
Criminal Minds
“Supply & Demand” 9:00 on CBS

The discovery of two bodies in a trunk leads the BAU to a human trafficking ring, meanwhile the team faces budget cut and an uncertain future. Nicholas Brendan returns as Kevin Lynch, Garcia’s BF and AJ COOK RETURNS AS JJ JAREAU!

12th Season Finale!
Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit “Smoked” 10:00 on NBC

Someone is dying tonight on SVU as the investigation into a purse snatching turned murder reveals something much more sinister. Imagine they killed of Stabler (Chris Meloni) that would be KA-RAAAZY!

The Rest:

American Idol 8:00 on FOX – The top three perform.

The Middle 8:00 on ABC – The Hecks try to cure Brick of his irrational Bridge fear.

Minute To Win It 8:00 on NBC – Does this ever take a break? I feel like it’s on every day.

Modern Family 9:00 on ABC – Jay has a horrible botox incident and Cam wants Mitchell to stop making fun of him.

Cougar Town 9:31 on ABC – Jules gives Travis some tough love when she helps him with his breakup. Who else is bored with ANYTHING Travis?

Happy Endings 10:00 on ABC – Dave hunts down the guy that ruined his wedding.

South Park 10:00 on Comedy  Central -I’ll let the promo do all the talking.

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior 10:00 on CBS – maybe now that this is cancelled Janeane Garofalo can try a comedy. You know, cause she’s a comedienne.

The Real World 10:00 on MTV – Screw this, bring on Jersey Shore 3!

Top Chef Masters 10:00 on BRAVO! – Hate this and I can’t stand Curtis Stone.

Workaholics 10:30 on Comedy Central – I really will watch this someday. Maybe. Is it good? Anyone?

Happy Endings 10:30 on ABC – I have a-mah-zing news, we get two new eps of this new comedy tonight. Dave and Alex, proving they can co-exist go to a concert with the gang. I have a feeling these two episodes were holdovers from the beginning of the season.

FALL 2011: CBS Cancels Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, Renews CSI:NY

I guess not every procedural on CBS can have a spin-off.

In anticipation of releasing their fall schedule on wednesday CBS has announced the spin-off starring Forrest Whitaker and Janeane Garofalo has been axed.

CSI:NY Renewed!

The only other show considered to be on the bubble, CSI NY has been renewed for season 8.

All the EYE’s other series, the CSIs, the NCISs, Criminal Minds, Hawaii 5-0, The Good Wife, Blue Bloods and La Mentalist should be coming back but CBS has been awfully quiet this season with only a few pickups and cancellations, which is the polar opposite from last year’s culling who’s casualties included The Ghost Whisperer and The New Adventures of Old Christine.

RE-FRIKKIN’ HIRED! JJ is back in BAU!

AJ Cook Returns to Criminal Minds for TWO YEARS!!!

Last year around this time CBS made the decision to fire AJ Cook, it was part of a huge cost cutting strategy that also saw Melina Kanakaredes, Eddie Cibrian, Liz Vassey and Peter Cambor all found themselves without jobs along with the casts of Ghost Whisperer, New Christine, Gary Unmarried, Numbers and Cold Case.

The Criminal Minds staff got hit hard, not only was Cook fired but co-star Paget Brewster was fired too, she’d star in half the episodes and leave at the end of this season. During all this Criminal Minds got a spin-off and the flagship’s Kristen Vangsness, the spunky Penelope Garcia, got hired as a regular on Suspect Behavior and was effectively collecting two pay-cheques. Then in December, Brewster was effectively re-hired for the rest of the season and Rachel Nichols was hired to play cadet Ashley Seaver.

It was a wildly unpopular decision. At the start of this season JJ was promoted and sent to work in the Pentagon, she left after two episodes. She came back for her co-star Paget Brewster’s send-off.

And now she’ll guest star in the season’s two final episodes before becoming a full-fledged regular in the fall for CM’s 7th season and the 8th if it should happen (it will).

This comes on the heels of a similar deal attempt. Weeks ago CBS tried to re-enter negotiations with Brewster and were pretty much told to self-fornicate, Brewster is headlining a sitcom pilot on NBC called My Life as an Experiment along with Canadian comedian Jon Dore (The Jon Dore Show) and legend Donald Sutherland. Should the pilot not work out there is always a chance Brewster might return to Minds.

Criminal Minds could use JJ back, an original cast member, the series felt odd without her. JJ not being a field agent was relegated mostly to background, she was the one stuck making sad eyes with the families, hopefully upon her return she’ll get to see a little more action.

What’s On: Modern Wednesday!

It been a few weeks since Modern Family was new,  and ABC trumps out it’s megasmash to pimp its new series Happy Endings (advanced word is pretty good) I’m just happy starting next week Cougar Town is back. And oh yeah frikkin Justified is on! Here are our recommendations for tonight, Wednesday April 13 2011.

The Best:

Survivor “The Buddy System” 8:00 on CBS

Was I the only one who DIED of laughter when Matt got sent back to Redemption Island. It was probably one of my fave moments in the season, maybe even Survivor history, the look on his face was priceless. Tonight is the “two-eliminations-in-one-ep” episode. Gorillaface (Julie) is getting on my nerves, it seems like the casting people wanted another Jane or Holly and got a middle aged-Brett. Also I can’t believe Philip is still around, he probably thinks he’s got mad social game.

Modern Family “The Musical Man” 9:30 on ABC

Cameron and his love of musicals take center stage when he becomes the director of Luke and Manny’s play. Phil tries to get the family to participate in a realty ad and Jay’s brother (perfectly cast guest star Jonathan Banks, last seen holding a gun to Bryan Cranston on Breaking Bad) comes for a visit and their sibling rivalry gets a little out of control.

Happy Endings “Pilot” & “The Quicksand Girlfriend” 9:31 & 10:00 on ABC

Perfect Couples, Traffic Light, Mad Love and now this. I hope it falls somewhere closer to Traffic Light. One good sign is that no one in the cast has signed on to another pilot. Last year at this time Zachary Knighton signed on to this while Flashforward was still on the air indicating it’s death. The premise is that Alex (Elisha Cuthbert, 24) leaves Dave (Knighton) at the altar altering their social group forever. A group that includes Eliza Coupe as Dave’s sister and Damon Wayans Jr. as her husband, Adam Pally as gay buddy Max and SNL alum Casey Wilson as the devestatingly single one. Give it a try, it can’t be that bad.

Justified “Debts and Accounts” 10:00 on FX

Last week’s Justified was one of the strongest eps yet, featuring the death of Coover Bennett, an act that will no doubt propel the final act of the season and gave us a lot of Caitlyn Dever as Loretta. Watching her discover her father’s fate and try to exact revenge was amazing. Mags and Boyd are now united (as long as he doesn’t grow weed) after besting Carol (Rebecca Creskoff) and present a threat to Raylan’s life. Tonight features the return of Bad Boyd, who’s been pretty absent this season. Tonight is also said to feature some wicked violence, which Justified has become known for. Click over to AICN for a lot of juicy spoilers and check out tonight’s promo below!

The Rest:

American Idol 8:00 on FOX – Check out the pre-show rakings tonight and then check out the idols take on Movie classics.

America’s Next Top Model 8:00 on CW – One girl read another girls diary. Brilliant.

The Middle 8:00 on ABC – Axl is forbidden for playing in the big game becuase he’s a disgusting teenage slob. Seems pretty fair. Also Sue gets awarded MVP for cross country which leaves her parents baffled.

Minute To Win It 8:00 on NBC – There is way better stuff on tonight, sorry NBC!

Better With You 8:30 on ABC – Definetly better than it’s given credit for being.

Shedding for the Wedding 9:00 on CW – Mr and Mrs. Biggest loser are revealed in the first season finale.

Criminal Minds 9:00 on CBS – Hunting killers.

Breaking In 9:30 on FOX – Breaking In did quite well in the post idol slot last week. It’s a decent sitcom so hopefully it can pull a repeat in the numbers.

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior 10:00 on CBS – Hunting killers with oscar winner Forrest Whitaker and comedienne Janeane Garofalo (left).

The Real World: Las Vegas 10:00 on MTV – I miss Jersey Shore.

Well that’s what’s on tonight, check back tomorrow for recaps and more!

What’s On: Blais of Glory Wednesday!

Tonight marks the end of one of my favorite season of Top Chef ever – its a battle of Good (Richard Blais) vs Obnoxious (Mike Isabella). I really wanted Antonia to beat him last week and was shocked she didn’t. I can’t stand Mike Isabella. That’s not the only good vs obnoxious battle on tonight, Survivor got Steph going up against good christian Matt. Matt needs to lose and soon, I can’t take much more of this bland golden boy bullshit (its so Brett from Samoa – BORING!). Also on hand tonight are new episodes of both Criminal Minds, Mr Sunshine and the newly renewed Justified, check out our recommendations for tonight, Wednesday March 30 2011.

The Best:

VS.

Survivor: Redemption Island “It Don’t Take a Smart One” 8:00 on CBS

The promo below promises the “most extreme smackdown ever” hmmm… okay – we’ll see I guess. What I am loving is the gameplay going on – this has been one of the more active seasons (in terms of gameplay) as opposed to more passive seasons (like the last one) and that makes me excited. Most people are there to play the game and I am really enjoying Rob vs. Philip, becuase as obnoxious as he is, it makes him a great person to align with, no one will want to give Philip a million dollars – in fact people will probably just want to see him lose, like Russell (no one voted for Natalie or Sandra, they just voted against Russell).

Mr. Sunshine “The Assistant” 9:31 on ABC

Roman becomes Alice’s assistant. Sounds good to me, mainly becuase I think Andrea Anders (Alice) is a very funny actress who’s being slightly squandered, I’m excited for her to get an ‘A’ plot, and more excited it’s opposite Nate Torrence’s hilarious Roman. Check out Andrea Anders in these very Rated R (ie NSFW) hilarious outtakes from her previous gig on Better Off Ted.

Justified “The Spoil” 10:00 on FX

Damn this is good, even it’s weaker outings are better than most other TV and Margo Martindale is simply the most capable and gifted guest Justified’s ever seen, she’s terrifying and I can’t get enough. Last episode we were introduced to Rebecca Creskoff’s Mining Company Character, who Raylan is tasked with protecting tonight. She goes up against Mags Bennett and Raylan and Boyd are caught in the middle. From what I understand tonight’s is supposed to be great, but next week’s is supposed to be the best yet.

Season Finale Alert!!!

Top Chef: All Stars “Finale” 10:00 on Bravo!

Last week was a mad intense nailbiter, there was nothing more in I wanted in the world than to have Antonia Lofaso in the finals against Blais – I can’t stand Mike Isabella, I didn’t think he should have been picked over Bryan Voltaggio or Kevin Gillespie for All Stars. If Richard Blais loses I’ll feel as if this whole season has been a waste – seriously Mike can’t win. I mean he better not – the problem I see is that he’s in Blais’ head with three back-to-back wins and Blais tends to live or die by his neuroses. We’ll see how they fare tonight (after Justified though). PS – I miss Carla. Beef tongue beef tongue…

The Rest:

American Idol 8:00 on Fox – Check this weeks rankings here!

America’s Next Top Model 8:00 on CW – I miss when challenge winners got to guest star on Veronica Mars.

Shedding For The Wedding 9:00 on CW – Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Makeover makeover, makeover makeover, makeover makeover.  MAKEOVER! (Gosh I miss clone high)

Criminal Minds 9:00 on CBS – The first Prentiss free ep… I hope it’s good. (But I know it’s not)

Criminal Minds: Dropping Deuce 9:00 on CBS – Poo!

Off The Map 10:01 on ABC – I think literally everyone on that cast can do better. Everyone.

The Real World: Las Vegas 10:00 on MTV – Housemate Dustin used to do gay porn. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

Law & Order:SVU 10:00 on NBC – Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost and V) guest stars as a devious piano teacher and oscar winner Jeremy Irons also guests as a psychiatrist that helps Benson and Stabler solve the case. JSYK – Mitchell played a seriously scary pedophile and child murderer in 2006’s Running Scared. Check out the scene below. “You wanna hug your sister?” Shudder…

Nuts huh? I’m gonna tune in cause when Mitchell goes bad – she goes for broke.

What’s On: Who will find Redemption Wednesday?

Can little Krista stop Matt’s insane winning streak? Probably not, but I’ll enjoy watching her try. We got a fun night of television ahead so lets not hesitate and get to our recommendations for tonight, Wednesday March 23, 2011.

The Best:

VS.

Survivor: Redemption Island “Their Red Headed Stepchild” 8:00 on CBS

Will Rob & Co. finally get Philip out this week? Will Stephanie’s bestie survive to fight another day? Also on tap? A violent challenge! Sweet! Check out the promo below.

America’s Next Top Model “Rachel Zoe” 8:00 on CW

Wow. Playing with a baby snow leopard and reading someone’s diary? How Shakespearian!

Modern Family “Boy’s Night” 9:00 on ABC

ABC says: “Phil and Claire have some trepidation when they find out that Luke has befriended their crotchety old neighbor, Mr. Kleezak; Jay’s attempt to avoid sitting through a symphony concert with Gloria and Manny lands him in the middle of Mitchell and Cameron’s “boys’ night out”; and Haley has her own adventures in babysitting with Lily” No promo, just a cute video! This will go to 9:31 so set DVRs accordingly.

Justified “Save My Love” 10:00 on FX

Last week Winona took one 100 dollar bill from the evidence lock-up, had it stolen in a bank robbery, and involved Raylan in the cover up. Tonight, the shit hits the fan as Justified continues it’s stellar second season.

The Rest:

American Idol 8:00 on FOX – Tonight is Motown night, which is 100 percent about song choice and arrangement. We’ll see who prevails. Also check back soon for pre-show rankings.

Minute To Win It 8:00 on NBC – Looks so easy. But I have a chair i broke in frustration that says otherwise.

The Middle 8:00 on ABC – TV’s most underrated sitcom. Spring cleaning brings back some painful memories.

Shedding for the Wedding 9:00 on CW – JUST STOP IT.

Mr Sunshine 9:31 on ABC – Just keep chugging along finding you’re groove. You are worth it, little buddy! Fred Savage guest stars as himself tonight!

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior 10:00 on CBS – I SAID STOP IT.

Hot in Cleveland 10:00 on TVLand – Law and Elka.

Off the Map 10:00 on ABC – Jenna Bans is an evil, evil woman for subjecting the world to this barf.

The Real World 10:00 on MTV – When Dustin got mad at nerdy Mike for kissing the girl he likes in truth or dare it was pathetic. His thug accent was hilario to the maxx. What a loser.

Top Chef: All Stars 10:00 on BRAVO! – I cannot stand Mike Isabella. Please lose tonight!

Retired at 35 10:30 on TVLand – Congrats on a second season renewal!
