All the scripted series, save for Glee, end their runs tonight. Hellcats and One Tree Hill are still on the bubble so tonight would be the night to make your viewership known. Also word is that Breaking In could survive if tonight’s rating spike up. The finale I’m most excited for is The Good Wife, I can’t wait to see how they close their stellar second season. Also did I mention someone dies on Glee tonight. DIES! As a piggy for TV death I’m actually looking forward to Glee for the first time in a long time. Here are our recommendations for tonight, Tuesday May 17, 2011.
Season 2 Finale!
The Good Wife “Closing Arguments” 10:00 on CBS
The best series on broadcast TV ends tonight and has Alicia and Kalinda trying to work together to prove their client’s innocence despite the tension. And even though I’m not a ‘shipper by any means I’m most excited to see if the timing can finally be right for Alicia and Will. If the really spoilery promo is any indication it’s gonna happen sooner than later. Titus Welliver, Kelli Giddish, Dallas Roberts and Chris Noth all return tonight. Enjoy the promo but beware of spoilers!
Not A Finale!
Glee “Funeral” 8:00 on FOX
Who’s dying tonight? Terri Schuester? Burt Hummel? Howard Bamboo? Jesse St. James? Jacob Ben Israel? Principal Figgins? Karofsky? Personally I wish it was Sue Sylvester, then maybe Jane Lynch could be on a series that’s worthy of her talent.
8th Season Finale!
NCIS “Pyramid” 8:00 on CBS
Jack McPhee the Port-to-Port killer offed Mike Franks and tonight one more character joins him in TV heaven.
8th Season Finale!
One Tree Hill “This is my house, this is my home” 8:00 on CW
The series jumps forward a year and Brooke gives birth. I used to love this show, and Brooke Davis is an incredible character and I know it’s weird – but I’m like REALLY happy for her that she got pregnant, and is having a baby tonight. She wanted one so bad and when it was revealed she couldn’t have one my heart broke for her.
Hellcats “I’m Sick Y’all” 9:00 on CW
I’ll be kinda sad to see this go but I really think it’s worn out it’s novelty. What I will miss is a killer lead performance from Aly Michalka. Here’s the promo for the finale which finds the Hellcats at the cheerleading championship.
2nd Season Finale
NCIS:LA “Familia” 9:00 on CBS
The team tries to unravel the mystery behind Hetty’s (Linda Hunt) sudden resignation, and Callen is drawn in when it he discovers it has to do with his mysterious history.
First Season Finale!
Raising Hope “Don’t Vote for this Episode” 9:01 on FOX
Raising Hope goes back in time to when Jimmy was an 18 year old goth and Maw-Maw was lucid. Love it! Don’t have a promo for tonight’s episode so check out a featurette starring Martha Plimpton.
Breaking In “21.0 Jump Street” 9:30 on FOX
It’s simple, if you want there to be more of this show, watch it tonight. The finale guest stars Mike Tyson as himself and has the cast heading back to high school.
First Season Finale Alert!
Body Of Proof “Broken Home” 10:01 on ABC
Megan (Dana Delaney) suspects foul play when a terminally ill socialite dies and halts the family’s attempts at having a proper funeral. Complicating things further, Megan finds out Kate (Jeru Ryan) is sleeping with her exhusband (guest star Jeffrey Nordling). It would be nice if the two strong female leads on this series wouldn’t fight over men, ABC should pair this with Charlie’s Angels next year. Jill Eikenberry guest stars too.
The Biggest Loser 8:00 on NBC – The final four become the final two in tonight’s penultimate episode. I miss Courtney Crozier so much.
Dancing With The Stars 9:00 on ABC – The final four becomes the finale three.
Tosh.0 10:00 on Comedy Central – I’m so happy Daniel is back to ridicule those unfortunate internet idiots.
The Voice 10:00 on NBC – The battle rounds continue.
