Will Ferrell joins The Office tonight!
That’s right folks, it’s finally here, the Anchorman reunion we’ve been crying for. It’s be nice if David Koechner, who recurrs on the Office as Todd Packer could join in the fun. New NBC comedies along with bad Alaric on the Vampire Diaries make tonight a hot thursday. Here are our recommendations for tonight, Thursday April 14 2011.
Community “Competitive Wine Tasting” 8:00 on NBC
Finally after weeks of tedious repeats, the best comedy night on TV is new. Anchoring the evening is Community. Tonight Pierce takes a suspicious Asian girlfriend Wu Mei, and Abed takes a class about Who’s The Boss. I don’t need that class – I know the boss was Mona. Because there’s been a drought lately here’s a bevy of Community clips from tonight.
Series Premiere Alert!
The Paul Reiser Show “Pilot” 8:30 on NBC
Paul Reiser, who has the esteem of having played on of my all time favourite cinema baddies in Aliens, returns to NBC’s must see TV line-up tonight, with a show along the same vein as Curb Your Enthusiasm and Episodes. The plot follows a fictionalized version of Reiser and his group of guy friends that include Omid Djalili (Whoopi), Ben Shenkman (Damages), Andrew Daly (Eastbound and Down) and Duane Martin (Scream 2) as they navigate the world of being bored, rich and middleaged. Sounds really relatable. I miss the imperfect but fun Perfect Couples already.
The Office “Training Day” 9:00 on NBC
There was not a dry eye across the Americas as Michael proposed to Holly a few weeks ago. That proposal came with the commitment to move to Colorado with Holly, and tonight that very ball gets rolling as Will Ferrell, hired by NBC to ease Carrell’s departure, joins tonight as Deangelo Vickers, the new interim boss. He’s on board for tonight and the next three, the second last of which (Apr 28) is Carrell’s last episode. Soak it up while you can.
Parks and Recreation “Fancy Party” 9:30 on NBC
April and Andy host a fancy party. Ann goes to a singles mixer. Ben asks Leslie for career advice. I am laughing already.
30 Rock “I Heart Connecticut” 10:00 on NBC
While I wasn’t in love with the last new episode (the whole Ken Howard shtick fell flat) it ended on a cliffhanger, a rarity for 30 Rock. Tracy is in NY and tonight its up to Liz and Kenneth to find him. HAAAAM!
Wipeout 8:00 on ABC – Host Jill Wagner just announced she’s leaving. Is this bad? I don’t watch.
American Idol 8:00 on FOX – Please America, send Stefano home.
Bones 9:00 on FOX – I am getting a little sick of how cheesy both the mysteries and the side stories have been lately.
Nikita 9:00 on CW – Not faring so well – content wise – since the creative overhaul that now emphasizes romance. This show could be better, it could be the next Alias – if it ever gets the balls to take a chance.
Outsourced 10:30 on NBC – It’s like NBC lost a bet but they’re too proud to admit it. They just stubbornly and inexplicably keep this on the air.
The Secret Diary of a Call Girl 10:30 on SHO – Doctor Who’s Rose Tyler sluts it up.
Check back tomorrow for recaps and reviews!
