What’s On: Red Alert Sunday

Good day friends, it’s a Red Alert Sunday as we got a heaps of fresh content for you including several reality premiere and even a few ol’ scripted faves too. Here are our recommendations for tonight, Sunday March 6, 2011.

Series Premiere Alert!

America’s Next Great Restaurant 8:00 on NBC

Bobby Flay, Curtis Stone and others judge this cross between Hell’s Kitchen and Dragon’s Den (or Shark Tank if you prefer). Contestants pitch a restaurant to professionals who will decide to invest or not, and from then – finalists are chosen and the winner receives a three restaurant chain deal; NYC, LA and…. Minneapolis? Okay I guess that’s cool.

Bob’s Burgers “Sheesh! Cab, Bob” 8:30 on FOX

Bob goes to great lengths to give Tina the best 13th birthday she’s ever had. The promos are great, click through to youtube for more!

Season Premiere Alert!

Celebrity Apprentice “Pepperoni Profit” 9:00 on NBC

I am so excited for the premiere of Celebrity Apprentice, and for the first time in this three seasons – Mark Burnett and Donald Trump have assembled a really entertaining (and actual celebrity – unlike the most recent DWTS cast) bunch which includes Gary Busey, Meat Loaf, NeNe Leakes, Lisa Rinna, Jose Canseco, LaToya Jackson, Star Jones, Marlee Matlin and many more entertaining psychos. I hear people get along much worse than the past two editions. I believe the promos when they say this will be “crazy good”

Family Guy “The Hand that Rocks the Wheelchair” 9:00 on FOX

A Family Guy episode based on my favourite cheesy 90’s thriller? YES PLEASE! Meg takes care of Joe when Bonnie goes out of town and becomes the Rebecca DeMornay to Joe’s baby.

Season Premiere Alert!

Army Wives “Line of Departure” 9:00 on Lifetime

I don’t watch this show, but based on the promo it looks like a doozy of a premiere with one of the titular wives becoming a widow. At the end of the fourth season; LeBlanc (Drew Fuller), Holden (Brian McNamara) and Sherwood (Tony Serpico) were deployed so It looks like it’ll be one of them (My money’s on Moran, only cause Brigid Brannagh was in the center of the mourn line at the funeral), but if this show has taught it’s viewers anything; it’s expect the unexpected (Amanda!).

Series Premiere Alert!

Breakout Kings “Pilot” 10:00 on A&E

This semi-spin off of Prison Break is about a group of convicts who’ve escaped in the past work for the federal marshals hunting people who’ve escaped from prison. Sounds kinda blah right? WRONG Robert Knepper (T-Bag, Prison Break’s greatest asset) is on board AS his prison break character for 4 episodes this season. I guess I’ll check it out tonight, if mainly for Jimmi Simpson (Liam McPoyle on It’s Always Sunny…) and Dominic Lombardozzi (Herc on The Wire).

The Rest:

The Amazing Race 8:00 on CBS – Go Kynt and Vyxsin!

Secret Millioniare 8:00 on ABC – More like bullshit tear fest.

The Simpsons 8:00 on FOX – A hot new drug has an awesome effect on grandpa.

Big Love 9:00 on HBO – Last episode was very strong, I wanted to die when I saw Bill, Margie and Nicki resealing minus Barb – it was totally heartbreaking.

Californication 9:00 on SHO – Last week’s was the best episode in a long time. Callie Thorne was perfect and I can’t seem the get the perfectness of that ending out of my head. Is Hand Moody on the way up? I don’t know but I can’t wait to find out! Check out Tommy Lee’s acoustic from the Californication soundtrack.

Desperate Housewives 9:00 on ABC –¬†Beth (guest star Emily Bergl) tires to figure out what to do after she’s booted out by Paul. Um maybe it’s because you and your crazy fingerless mother tried to kill your husband. Duh, idiot.

Undercover Boss 9:00 on CBS – Presumably someone goes undercover at the place of their own employ. Go Kynt and Vyxsin!

Cleveland Show 9:30 on FOX – Blah blah blah not reall funny, blah blah blah trying too hard, blah blah blah not trying at all. It’s just blah.

CSI:Miami 10:00 on CBS – It is Gurney month on CBS, see Meredith Baxter-Birney on a Gurney.

Shameless 10:00 on SHO – Week after week I find myself becoming more enamoured with Karen Jackson (Laura Slade Wiggins above with Cusack), Lip’s GF and Sheila’s Daughter. She’s the perfect mix of funny, sweet and sassy, her reaction to Kev and Veronica’s new daughter was hilarious and her scenes with Joan Cusack are sweet, which is a rarity on this show.

Brothers & Sisters 10:00 on ABC – This is like a dog with three legs, one eye, fleas and half a tail – PUT IT OUT OF IT’S MISERY. PLEASE.

Season Premiere Alert!

The Real Housewives of Orange County 10:00 on BRAVO! – The flagship series is back!
