The Cape finale disappears!
In a move that should truly disappoint both it’s fans, NBC has pulled the finale of superhero series The Cape off the schedule and is going to release it online. NBC says it’s going to be “an exclusive episode just for online fans! Keep watching this site in the days ahead to see a full-length special episode.”
I’m gonna miss Summer Glau having a permanent gig on a network series. This wasn’t a bad show per se, it was just kind of stuck between genres, part action serial, part escapist fantasy and it’s tone was most reminiscent to Heroes (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. At it’s best it was a saturday morning cartoon brought to life, at it’s worst it was boring and conventional. The worst part of the series was the unfortunate casting of David Lyons (pictured left) as Vince Faraday AKA The Cape; he lacked the charisma and bravado the leading role in a series like this needed. Also, he looked like he always wears eyeliner – and not in a good Nestor Carbonell way.
Next week the Event comes back. I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO ITS RELAUNCH AND MY RELAUNCH OF RECAPS.
