Last week on Community, Troy (Donald Glover) was the star of the episode and he was mostly either screaming and catatonic. What inspired this brilliance you ask? Well it was none other than LeVar Burton, the star of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Roots and the producer and star of Reading Rainbow, and the episode was a solid 10 because of it. Tonight Burton comes to The Big Bang Theory, which among a few others are our recommendations for tonight, Thursday February 24 2011.
The Big Bang Theory “The Toast Derivation” 8:00 on CBS
Sheldon starts to freak out when he realizes that Leonard is in fact the center of their social group rather than he. So he enlists Kripke, Zack and Stuart (recurring guests John Ross Bowie, Brian Thomas Smith and Kevin Sussman respectively) and the one and only LEVAR BURTON to be his new crew. Let’s hope Sheldon can handle this better than Troy.
The Vampire Diaries “The House Guest” 8:00 on CW
Advanced word points to tonight’s VD is NOT the one to miss becuase OH YES THERE WILL BE BLOOD. Fear the reaper.
The Office “Todd Packer” 9:00 on NBC
Todd Packer (guest star David Koechner) Dunder Mifflin/Sabre’s traveling salesman – the one that’s NOT Timothy Olyphant – decides he’s done with life on the road and wants a desk job much to the chagrin of any and everyone as Todd Packer is a complete sociopath. Odds are he’ll stick around and contend for the top job after Scott leaves.
30 Rock “TGS Hates Women” 10:00 on NBC
Liz hires a new writer (guest star Cristin Milioti) to disprove a blogger who calls TGS sexist. And Jack goes up against the granddaughter of Kabletown’s CEO (guest star ChloeGrace Moretz, who had one hell of a 2010 with lead roles as Hit Girl in Kick Ass and Let Me In) for the top Kabletown job.
The Mentalist “Red Queen” 10:00 on CBS
Evidence in the murder of a antiques dealer at a museum leads back to the CBI and all while LaRoche is right up their collective asses trying to find out who fried Red John’s man. I’m really loving this LaRoche storyline, it reminds me of House’s Michael Tritter (David Morse) story from a few years back but more intense and unsettling. I’ve also been loving Aunjanue Ellis as Hightower, she’s got equal parts sass and poise and tonight she’s got a hostage it seems too.
Community 8:00 on NBC – Student Elections! Jeff Winger vs. Annie Edison vs. Starburns vs. Leonard. Awesome.
Wipeout 8:00 on ABC – Something about kids or families or blood I think…
Perfect Couples 8:30 on NBC – Dead in the water, but it is kinda funny. I really enjoy Christine Woods, who was the best part of the terrible Flash Forward (along with Lost’s Dominic Monaghan)
Rules of Engagement 8:30 on CBS – New timeslot, same stuff.
Grey’s Anatomy 9:00 on ABC – We get to the bottom of why Peter MacNicol’s Dr. Stark is such a nasty little man.
Nikita 9:00 on CW – Speaking of Melinda Clarke, tonight on her regular gig as the steely and cunning Amanda, she suspects and interrogates Alex.
Royal Pains 9:00 on USA – You know what’s a royal pain? The Feueueueurstein fro.
Parks & Recreation 9:30 on NBC – The gang travels to speak to the state government in the aptly titled; Indianapolis.
Archer 10:00 on FX – Didn’t love the last episode, but I guess they can’t all be tens.
Fairly Legal 10:00 on USA – I’m still watching this cute and uppity legal dramedy, I love me my Sarah Shahi!
Jersey Shore 10:00 on MTV – Tonight, Sammi comes back to the Shore. OMFG. Love. It. To. Death.
Private Practice 10:01 on ABC – Fill in the blanks. _______ overreacts when s/he reads/hears what _______ has to say. And a patient suffering from ________ hits close to home for __________.
Outsourced 10:30 on NBC – I hate this but I like Ben Rappaport (pictured above). He’s kinda charming.
