What’s On: Raylan Givens Wedensday

I name today Raylan Givens wednesday in honour of the retuning Kentucky Marshall and my man crush on him and his portrayer Timothy Olyphant. It’s Valentine’s season, and seeing how Modern Family fared last year (and the pic above) it’ll be a riot. But it’s not all smiles as tonight is also the end of Friday Night Lights. Forever. Tear. Here are our recommendations for tonight, Wednesday February 9 2011.

The Best:

Friday Night Lights “Always” 9:00 on 101Network

This is it for the East Dillon Panthers, Coach Taylor, the luscious and intelligent Tami Taylor, Julie, Landry, the Riggins bros, Tyra, Buddy, Matt and everyone else that spent the last 6 years making East Dillon and FNL the respected series it is. And by the looks of the promo they’re gonna go out in a blaze of glory.

Season (and probably Series) Finale!

Human Target “Marshall Pucci” 9:00 on FOX

We began the season with two new cast members and little chance that it would see a third season. Tonight the mystery surrounding the death of Ilsa Pucci’s (Indira Varma) husband is resolved in what is sure to be a fun and exciting hour. I hope this does get a third season, that being said, it’s second season was it’s gift and really, ours too.

Modern Family “Bixby’s Back’ 9:00 on ABC

A semi sequel to last years hilarious “My Funky Valentine” has Phil and Claire returning to the roles of Clive and Juliana, but word has it tonight Clive will be in the compromising position. J’adore! My favorite episode is still “The Incident” so I’m mega excited for the return of Shelly Long next week as Jay’s ex Dede in an episode that also features the return of Fizbo. Watch out Phil.

Mr. Sunshine “Pilot” 9:30 on ABC

See the review I posted for more detail and watch this. Check out the promo!

Justified “The Moonshine War” 10:00 on FX

Hot Damn! I am so pumped for the return of Raylan Givens and Justifed. As Olyphant explains in the video below, Elmore Leonard created cool characters, and Givens may be the coolest out there. I’m popping Blu Rays of Justified and Deadwood in anticipation all day. The second season focuses primarily on the Bennett family, old enemies of the Givens’ from back in their moonshining days. Margo Martindale (above with Olyphant and Erica Tazel), Jeremy Davies play the pot growing family and from the looks of it, it’s gonna be one hell of a bumpy ride this season and  I wonder how Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) will come into play? I am so damn excited.

The Rest:

American Idol 8:00 on FOX – Idol takes the ups the downs of the streets of San Francisco.

Live To Dance 8:00 on CBS – Season (and totally series) finale. This series had absolutely no impact on anything.

The Middle 8:00 on ABC – Axl asks Frankie for help picking a Valentine’s gift for his girlfriend and she totally looses her shit in the excitement that her child is speaking to her.

Minute To Win It 8:00 on NBC – MTWI goes for two whole hours tonight, which must be the biggest cardio workout Guy Fieri gets.

Better With You 8:30 on ABC – BWY’s valentine’s episode focuses on Joel and Vicki (Kurt Fuller and Debra Jo Rupp, pictured in their pajamas) which is a first for the freshman series.

Criminal Minds 9:00 on CBS – Word came last week that AJ Cook (below with her CM BFFs), who departed the series earlier this season is returning for Paget Brewster’s swan song at the end of the season, which may have something to do with her past which is the sub plot of tonight’s episode that has the BAU in Lala Land.

Blue Bloods 10:00 on CBS – Danny and Jackie investigate a kidnapping and Erin gets closer to her boss (guest star Bobby Cannavale).

Hot in Cleveland 10:00 on TVLand – Betty White made a pact with the devil and this was the result. I’m not saying this show is bad, I’m saying the devil’s sitcom interests peaked in 1992.

Retired At 35 10:30 on TVLand – LUCILLE BLUTH ALERT (and tomorrow too on the far superior Archer)

Law and Order: SVU 10:00 – Benson (Mariska Harigtay) discovers that the curse placed on her by the villainous Gargath (guest star Laura Linney) can only be broken if Stabler (Chris Meloni) impregnates and decapitates the Lanturian Viceroy (guest star Mary Steenburgen). Ice-T also stars.

Off The Map 10:00 on ABC – This show is so bad you couldn’t pay me to watch it. Wait. I lied you could. ABC, I will watch this terrible cliche-ridden mess if you pay me, you desperate jags.

Top Chef: All Stars 10:00 on BRAVO – Antonia (above) is totally badass and she kicked ass last week and sent Tre packing.

Aw man, I still can’t believe FNL is over… Kyle Chandler’s summer movie Super 8 looks so damn awesome though (I posted the trailer below), he’ll be fine.

I need to get me my Justified on! WHOOOOO! What are you watching tonight?
