What’s On: Winter Wednesday!

I don’t know where you are but I’m tucked away at home as the storm that is supposed to terrorize the Northeast strikes my Toronto home. I’m curled up with coffee and TV awaiting the final Cougar Town before Matthew Perry and Alison Janney move in. Gonna catch up on a few series; Nikita, Misfits and a few others, which I wanna get back to, so on to our recommendations for tonight, February 2, 2011.

The Best:

American Idol “Austin, Texas Auditions” 8:00 on FOX

OMG – I made up heard J. Lo is jealous that Steven Tyler is emerging as the new star of season 10 Idol. I have a feeling that Ms. Lopez’s critiques will prove more important as they leave the audition phase and head to Hollywood and on! I hope they’re tension translates to the panel!

Human Target “The Trouble with Harry” 9:00 on FOX

Fox seems mighty eager to burn off it’s remaining episodes of Human Target, tonight’s Buster Bluth infused episode is the second new offering this week. Chance’s bumbling PI pal Harry (Tony Hale, Arrested Development) seeks his help again as the girlfriend of a rival security firm’s owner needs protection. Also Ilsa Pucci (Indira Varma) goes on her first field mission.

Cougar Town “Cry to Me” 9:30 on ABC

Tonight is the last new Cougar Town for two months, that’s right, Big Carl gets put away after tonight until April 18 to give way for Courtney Cox’s former TV husband Matthew Perry’s new sitcom Mr. Sunshine, which premiers next week. I will really miss the Cul-de-Sac Crew and their drunken adventures. ABC says of tonight’s epsiode; “On Valentine’s Day, Jules wishes that Grayson would share his feelings with her; Andy “dates” Bobby; and Travis ask Laurie’s help to buy a nice gift for Kirsten.” Sounds hilarious! Check out the clip below.

Blue Bloods “Hall of Mirrors” 10:00 on CBS

An undercover counter terrorism agent goes down and Danny has to solve his murder without disrupting the investigation. I’m happy this moved to wednesday where it will have a CBS-style long happy life. As long as they mix good crime stories, with both family and city politics, and the ongoing mystery of the secret police fraternity, I’m sold. This is the CBS formula at it’s best. Top Chef: All Stars “An Offer They Can’t Refuse” 10:00 on Bravo

My favourite season of Top Chef continues to surprise, last week during restaurant wars Marcel was eliminated, he deserved it. I hate to say it but I think Blais is gonna win it, it’s between him and Angelo at this point. They’re gonna have to have a huge misfire in order to NOT make it to the finale. I can’t wait for tonight, I really felt it’s absence last week. Here’s a clip from the quickfire challenge tonight;

The Rest:

Live to Dance 8:00 on CBS – I do not live to dance. I like to dance though.

Law & Order: SVU 10:00 on NBC – Do you think Hargitay and Meloni have ever done it? Like just once? I think so.

Off The Map 10:00 on ABC – (right) Bland, trite, cliched, stupid, condescending, unrealistic… the list goes on and on.

Hot in Cleveland 10:00 on TVLand – Elka goes before the judge (Sherri Shepherd who’d been killin’ it on 30 Rock) and pleads insanity, while the rest of the ladies become smitten with her lawyer.

Retired at 35 10:30 on TVLand – Tonight’s episode is called Rocket Man. Rock-it MAN!
