Amy Carlson promoted on CBS’ Blue Bloods.

Amy Carlson, who plays Linda Regan, the dedicated and stalwart wife of cop Danny (Donnie Wahlberg above with Carlson) has been promoted to series regular on CBS’s Friday hit Blue Bloods shall it be granted a second season (which seems likely given its ratings and awesome quality). Carlson fits in with the Blue Bloods crew well, and she’s pretty much been around since the beginning – I just wonder how they’re gonna give her good plots when the majority of every episode focuses on crime. Maybe they should have hired Jennifer Esposito too, she’s also a recurring on the show, she plays Danny’s partner and she’s awesome.

Jack Huston hired as a regular on Boardwalk Empire!

Jack Huston, the dashingly handsome fellow on the right has been hired by HBO to play the faceless assassin Richard Harrow full time on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. Harrow is one of Boardwalk Empire’s more interesting creations, a WW1 veteran with half his face blown off, he was befriended by Jimmy mid-season and joined the ranks of Nucky’s crew by the end helping protect Margaret and the kids (the Tin Man moment was amazing) and assassinate the D’Alessio bros. This is a good move on TPTB’s part; Huston’s Harrow always adds to any scenario, at least for me, and on a series so concerned with introspective character development moments (mini boring), like BE, a cool character addition is always welcome.
