What’s On: Thursday

Woohoo! TV’s best night is once again upon us, albeit with a few less fun series (The CW’s lineup of Vampire Diaries and Nikita are repeats tonight) November sweeps continues in full swing tonight, here are our recommendations for tonight, Thursday November 18, 2010

Bones “The Babe in the Bar” 8:00 on FOX

Wayne Knight (NEWMAN!) guest stars tonight as a modern (and I guess not fictional too) Willy Wonka tonight as the Jeffersonian team finds the remains of a girl in a chocolate bar. Tiffany Hines (a regular on the CW’s Nikita as Jaden) guest stars too as Cam’s daughter she adopted in The Doctor in the Den. Here’s a behind the scenes preview.

30 Rock “College” 8:30 on NBC

Liz enters the staff lottery against Jenna and Tracy’s advice, meanwhile Jack hates that Microwaves are selling well and he’s not behind its success. Don’t have a promo so instead enjoy the best of LIZ LEMON!

Fringe “The Abducted” 9:00 on FOX

Bubbles Alert!!

Andre Royo returns to Fringe tonight in the last installment of the November Sweeps. In the Red Universe, Olivia digs into a case that resonates with Broyles. Hercules over at AICN (who’s seen tonight’s episode) says tonight ends with a cliffhanger to die for. I’ll be tuning in and I hope you all do too. I got lots o’ promos!

and!

and even!

The Mentalist “Red Moon” 10:00 on CBS

The Mentalist won me over with a first season episode called “Scarlett Fever” It was a clever, intriguing, little mystery about women at a country club. It first introduced me to Marguerite MacIntyre, (Mrs. Trager on Kyle XY and Sherriff Forbes on the Vampire Diaries) who even simply as a guest star made an impact on me. Simon Baker is gold, his Patrick Jane dances across the screen with a fun, impish fervor. The whole cast is great; Fox spent years trying to find the right role for Amanda Righetti after her spash as Hailey Nichol on the OC, she spent the next few years playing vapid bitches in soon cancelled FOX series North Shore and Reunion.  Who knew it would be the quiet and reserved Grace Van Pelt that would prove to be the perfect role. Owain Yeoman was in a similar position, Kitchen Confidential and The Nine were cancelled briskly, here he’s great in his role of the stalwart but slightly dopey Wayne Rigsby. I fall into the Socially-Awkward-Genius-With-Specific-Talent category of procedural fans. House, Bones, Castle, etc.. so the Mentalist is right up my alley. Check out tonight’s episode which takes the CBI team to a murder in a small town.

but that’s not all folks, here’s the rest:

The Big Bang Theory 8:00 CBS – Keith Carradine guest stars as Penny’s father. Raj, Howard and Bernedette stare into a telescope.

Community 8:00 NBC – Kevin Corrigan (Damages, the Departed) guest stars as a mysterious professor. I’m more interested in the blanket fort Abed and Troy try to build.

The Office 9:00 NBC – Michael tries to muster up some investors for Ryan’s new internet company. Nice to see Ryan getting a plot.

Grey’s Anatomy 9:00 ABC – Meredith and Alex are left alone with a 9 year old with post op complications. I like the two of them together on screen, tonight’s should be great.

The Apprentice 10:00 NBC – Probably the last Apprentice without the word Celebrity attached. Blah…

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia 10:00 FX – Tonight’s is called “Charlie Kelly: King of the Rats” Genius already.

Burn Notice 10:00 USA – Bruce Campbell’s chin takes over the eastern seaboard.

The League 10:30 FX – Nick Kroll shows off his hot wife at the League’s high school reunion.

That’s it for the tube today. Check back tomorrow for Recaps and Reviews!
